About Us

About Us

The Mountain Opera Chorus is made up of amateurs, both men and women, who enjoy music and sharing that enjoyment with others. Our members range from those who have never sung, to experienced singers.

Our varied repertoire includes ballads, folk songs, sacred music and operetta as well as opera. As well as providing chorus in full opera productions we sing in concert performances throughout the year.

In addition to singing we act as stage hands, costume designers and assorted other helpers! We are constantly amazed at the talents people bring to the group.

If you would like to try singing (or otherwise helping) with this friendly group you’d be most welcome. Don’t worry if you think you haven’t the voice or experience - give it a try – you might surprise yourself!!! The group meets at Lawson on Tuesday night from 7.30 to 10pm.
